Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 June 2026
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and any purchase you make from us, including clothing, event tickets and private hire enquiries. By using our website or placing an order, you confirm that you accept these Terms. Please read them carefully, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
About us
This website is operated by Mr Shaw's House Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales under company number 14231900. Our trading address is 49 Sadler Gate, Derby, DE1 3NQ, United Kingdom. Our VAT registration number is 439305393. You can contact us at hello@mrshawshouse.co.uk.
Using the website
You may use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not use it in any way that is fraudulent, that breaches any applicable law or regulation, or that could damage, disable or impair the website or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
All content on this website — including our name, logo, branding, text, images, designs and other material — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and use the website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, but you must not copy, reproduce, distribute or otherwise exploit any of our content without our prior written permission.
We may update or change the website from time to time, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free from errors.
Guest checkout
You do not need to create an account to shop with us. Orders can be placed using guest checkout, where you provide the details we need to process your order and arrange delivery. You are responsible for ensuring the information you give us is accurate and complete.
Buying clothing
When you place an order for clothing, you are making an offer to buy those goods. We will send you an acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order, but this does not mean your order has been accepted. A binding contract between you and us is formed only when we confirm dispatch of the goods.
If we are unable to fulfil your order — for example, because an item is out of stock or there has been a pricing or description error — we will let you know and will not charge you, or we will refund any payment already taken.
Prices and payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP, £) and include UK VAT at the standard rate of 20%. The price payable is the price displayed at the time you place your order. Delivery charges are shown separately before you complete your purchase.
Card payments are processed securely by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe). We do not store your full card details. Payment is taken at the point of purchase.
Delivery and returns
We currently deliver to UK addresses only. Standard delivery is charged at a flat rate of £4.20. Full details of our dispatch times, delivery, your right to cancel and how to return goods are set out on our Delivery & Returns page, which forms part of these Terms.
In summary, for clothing bought online you generally have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, in addition to your remedies if goods are faulty.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. For more information about your rights, contact your local Citizens Advice or visit the Citizens Advice website.
Event tickets
Event tickets are sold subject to availability. Once your payment is successful, your ticket is delivered to you digitally. You are responsible for keeping your ticket safe and for presenting it on entry as instructed.
Admission is subject to the conditions of entry for the venue and the specific event, including any security checks, capacity limits and rules of behaviour. Where an age restriction applies to an event, it will be stated at the point of sale, and we may refuse admission, or eject without refund, where these conditions are not met. We may refuse admission or remove anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, unlawful or disruptive.
Cancelled or rescheduled events
If we cancel an event, you will be entitled to a refund of the ticket price. If we reschedule an event, your ticket will normally remain valid for the new date; where it does not, or where you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, we will tell you how to obtain a refund. Refunds cover the face value of the ticket and do not include any separate fees unless we say otherwise or the law requires it.
No 14-day cancellation right for tickets
Tickets for a specific dated event or leisure service are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This means tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once purchased, except where we cancel the event (or as otherwise set out above for rescheduled events). This does not affect your other legal rights.
Private hire enquiries
Our private hire form is for enquiries only. Submitting an enquiry sends your details to the venue so we can discuss your requirements — it is not a confirmed booking, and no payment is taken through the website.
Any private hire is subject to a separate hire agreement and to our written confirmation. No hire is confirmed until we have agreed the terms with you, including dates, charges and any deposit, and confirmed the booking in writing.
Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for losses that arise from your own breach of these Terms, or for business losses. Our total liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Privacy
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it and your rights under UK data protection law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The version that applies to your purchase is the one in force at the time you place your order. We recommend you review these Terms each time you use our website.
Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England & Wales, and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
